As Chiyo heart the new gymleader was heading to the pokemon center to meet up with everyone and including Ash and his friends who she invited to this year's dragon festival, she had gotten an emergency call while she was cleaning up the gym. As she got to the school, she went to the nurse's, when she got their Officer Jenny and the principle of the school we're with a 7 year old little girl with black brunette hair with red streaks in it, and crying like crazy.
Chiyo: so the emergency is what again?
Principle: this little girl was abandoned here at the school, with a note *gives Chiyo the note*
Chiyo: *reads the note*
Note: Take care of my daughter Ryuko, she's a good kid, I'm just too bad of a father to take care of her, please protect and care for her.
Chiyo: So her father abandoned her, that's just sick, but he had reasons, hmmm *looks at the crying girl* I'll raise her
Officer Jenny: Gymleader Chiyo you sure that's wise?
Chiyo: Yes I'll sign the papers and everything if I have to, I won't see this kid in a foster home at all
